John Martindale, CEO
John
Martindale, CEO of Brothers Services, began his construction
career 25 years ago as a production manager for a design/build
firm, learning every facet of residential and commercial building.
As one of the founders of Brothers, he implemented his vision
of a faith-based construction business treating customers the
way family should, with value and excellence, while implementing
high tech innovation, optimizing business and operational processes,
and facilitating the growth of a startup company to one he believed
could be "the best."
In 1996, John became President, after purchasing Brothers from
his partner. In 1999, Brothers was transformed from a wholesale
company to include retail based exterior services (roofing, siding,
windows and doors) to homeowners and property managers,
while developing an award-winning reputation in Maryland, as "the
best." In 2003, Brothers expanded to commercial roofing,
landscaping, masonry, decks, exterior living, and golfscapes.
While guiding the company through turbulent economic times, Brothers
Services was recognized
by the Baltimore Business Journal as one of the fastest
growing companies in Baltimore. John is a past president of the
Maryland Remodelers Council of the National Association of Home
Builders (NAHB) and received his MBA from Loyola University.
Steve Zwagil, President
As
president, Steve
Zwagil oversees all operations and financial management
of Brothers. Steve was a fellow alum with John Martindale, obtaining
his MBA at Loyola, and while working together on a project, found
they had similar character values and vision for excellence in
business, though from different faiths as their foundation. They
quickly found a sense of brotherhood, and John was able to eventually
persuade Steve to bring his considerable management savvy to
help Brothers grow healthily and with a long term perspective.
As a licensed CPA, and former CFO of successful growth companies,
including mortgage, IT, staffing and CPA firms, Steve is a stabilizing
influence grounded in good business.
Steve's background in successful corporate mergers and acquisitions,
due diligence, investor management, accounting and tax management,
valuation analysis, business planning, debt and equity financing,
growth strategies, profitability analysis, and contracts review,
provide a wealth of experience to help Brothers grow not only
bigger, but better, now and in the future.
Wayne Watkins, VP Production
As
Vice President of Production, Wayne
Watkins brings 28 years
of excellence in every aspect of construction, from "in-the-field" craftsmanship
to production management. Wayne has been certified by GAF and
Owings Corning, and is especially knowledgeable in roofing, from
every type of shingle to ventilation mathematics. His responsibilities
include overseeing production of roofing (new construction, re-roofing,
commercial, service repairs), reviewing sales specifications,
and managing Brothers' award winning employee safety program.
Wayne loves to educate customers in the process, help them determine
what they really need, and find their best solutions. Due to
his significant field experience and understanding of construction,
he often identifies excellent and unique solutions to problems
others don't think can be solved.
