More than three decades ago, a group of friends who were as close as brothers set out to create a completely different type of home improvement company. High-pressure sales tactics and pricing schemes had given contractors a bad reputation. And since home improvement projects are few and far between for homeowners, there was little incentive for contractors to treat their customers with integrity. The cycle needed to be broken.
